María Victoria Cañas, President of BIAAF, will visit tomorrow the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris

One of the most important institutions of art and culture in the France has invited María Victoria Cañas, President of BIAAF to its open house.

École des Arts Décoratifs, founded in 1766, occupies an eminent place in the history of creation, decorative arts and design in France.

It officially opened its doors in 1767 by royal office of King Louis XV. Its objective was to develop crafts related to the arts and thus increase the quality of industry products. It became a Royal School of Drawing and Mathematics in favor of the mechanical arts in 1823. Over time, his initial mission was clarified and his ambition affirmed.

During its two centuries of history, the School has managed to be an international reference thanks to the talent of its students and the impulse of professors such as Patrick Raynaud, Michel Tourlière or Jean Widmer. You can know the history of the whole school here.

This trip is the result of BIAAF’s international expansion, which will continue in 2020, strengthening its relations with leading institutions in Europe and Asia.
