Madrid Fashion Film Festival 2018

The festival of fashion films is back with an edition dedicated to Japan

A few weeks ago we reviewed our favourite
fashion films of the year, those short films where fashion labels show their
latest pieces transporting us to atmospheres and stories that have served as
inspiration for their collections. Since the discipline wins more and more
followers each year, many festivals have appeared to give them the visibility
they deserve. One of the most important is the Madrid Fashion Film Festival
that celebrates, from 15 to 18 October, its fourth edition. This year they have
Japan as their guest country, celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations with Spain.

The Fashion Film contest serves as
the main event of the festival, where hundreds of filmmakers from around the
world have the opportunity of showing their work. This year members of the jury
include Masashi Mizukami, Ambassador of Japan in Spain, designer Juan Vidal, director
of S Moda, Empar Prieto, actress Hiba Abouk and photographer Carlota Guerrero,
among others.

The audience can attend the screening
of feature films “MaddMan: The Steve Madden Story”, by filmmaker Ben Patterson and
“This is my dream”, by Teo Stanley, which explores the collaboration between
Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas, among others.
