Fashion. Spanish design through photography
PhotoEspaña pays tribute Spanish fashion is their new exhibition
Within the framework of PhotoEspaña, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain and the Museum of Costume have come together to honor Spanish fashion with the exhibition, “Fashion! Spanish design through photography “. The exhibition gathers around 80 photographs of more than twenty national and international photographers, such as Henry Clarke, Ouka Leele, Alberto Garcia-Alix, William Klein, Ortiz Echagüe or Juan Gatti.
The display is divided into four thematic axes that link very different periods, schools and treatments. Audiences will be able to see images from the most important fashion magazines in the world such as Vogue, Elle or Harper’s Bazaar. The photographs are shown in dialogue with a selection of exclusive designs from the archives of the museum, including pieces by Cristóbal Balenciaga, Pertegaz, Elio Berhanyer, Paco Rabanne, Francis Montesinos, Pedro del Hierro, and Davidelfin, among others. In addition, the “La Fabrica” initiative has published a book of the same name that accompanies and complements the exhibition.
