BIAAF leads the SDGs in emerging design
BIAAF reaffirms its commitment to the SDGs by showing its work in the meeting of the UNESCO network of the Basque Country and taking part in "Strategic alliances" organized by Innobasque.
On November 6, BIAAF presented its work at the event organized by the UNESCO network of the Basque Country. Members of the BIAAF team explained the different projects and their relationship with the SDGs and Human Rights. The fashion industry, and specifically, emerging design has a unique opportunity to join the SDGs and BIAAF is willing to lead this initiative with its work.
Creating strategic alliances between companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations generates advantages for all stakeholders. The Tuesday of Innobasque: Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the day to day of the company. “The event was held 7 november at the Scientific and Technological Park of Bizkaia, in Zamudio.
In his speech, Cortés, Global Compact, a UN initiative for companies around the world to align strategies and initiatives with universal human rights principles and advance in the achievement of the SDGs, has made known the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations. The 17 SDGs identified to resolve the social, economic and environmental problems that afflict the world over the next 15 years are part of it. The deployment of these objectives requires the involvement of governments, the private sector, the academic world and civil society. Cortés advocates collaboration between NGOs and companies through innovative partnerships that generate benefits for both parties.
