Bilbao nominated for the Best European City Award

The city competes againts Ljubljana and Vienna and the ceremony will take place November 8th

This week we will know if Bilbao is chosen as Europe’s Best City. The mayor of Bilbao, Jose Mari Aburto, has already travelled to London to attend the awards ceremony, which will take place on the 8th of November. Bilbao competes against Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Vienna (Austria) in the awards organised by The Academy of Urbanism, an independent and non-governmental organization that each year awards good practice in urbanism.

A delegation visited last September Bilbao to evaluate the city, not only in relation with its urbanism, but also taking into account environmental, social, identity, cultural, political, innovation and sustainability factors.
