BIAAF enhance the Basque Country - United Kingdom axis
UK is a key international territory for the creative industries. In this post we make a review of the different projects that we promote from BIAAF to strengthen the Basque Country - United Kingdom axis.
BIAAF’s designers return to Central Saint Martins thanks to the grant from the BBK Foundation, in the framework of our collaboration with Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa
With the aim to put into practice the knowledge on entrepreneurship exposed in our III Forum, and align with the values of BIAAF: training, projection and visibility of outstanding designers of Bilbao in environments of international excellence, we renew the collaboration agreement with Central Saint Martin’s initiated by the participation of outstanding teachers of this center in the I Forum BIAAF, last 2013.
More than 250 designers from the world of fashion meet in Bilbao at the ‘Fashion Entrepreneurial Essentials’ forum
James Clark, a senior lecturer at the London College of Fashion, looked at the opportunities the digital environment offers in fashion marketing, especially how the use of big data makes it easier for a product manager to decide which product to choose, how much to buy and when to put it on sale to maximize profit. “By analysing these gigantic data banks, you can predict trends, detect buying patterns, and anticipate consumer needs by giving them what they want before they even know it”, says Clark.
On Thursday 16th November, Carry Somers – founder of Fashion Revolution, the most important sustainable fashion movement internationally – will give a conference on sustainability and transparency in fashion at Azkuna Zentroa. During her speech, Somers will review the major challenges that fashion industry has to face such as high levels of pollution, lack transparency or the need to ensure decent jobs.
This is a project in collaboration with British Council.
