The World of Anna Sui in London
The exhibition focused on the American designer opens May 26th
May 26th marks the inauguration of the exhibition “The World of Anna Sui” at the Fashion & Textiles Museum of London. It will be the first retrospective of an American fashion designer held in the UK.
The exhibition will show more than a hundred looks from the designer’s archive from her first collection in 1991 to the present, with her rock-and-roll romantic style reinventing itself season after season. Surfers, mods, hippies, punks… all of them have been part of Anna Sui’s blog, whose ventures include accessories, beauty and interiors.
Sui told Vogue magazine she was “thrilled” about the exhibition and was working alongside curator Dennis Nothdruft to decide which looks will be included. Moreover, she’s also working on a book that follows the structure of the exhibition. Sui describes the show as “optimistic, inspirational, fun, eclectic, celebratory”.
