DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

My collection PROTEO is created by the re-using waste products as main material. Taking as main reference the constructive principles of Islamic mosaic and the transforming nature of a mythological marine creature, resulting in geometric and colorful shapes made of re-used materials that are toxic for our planet.

INSPIRATION

 

Proteus, oracular Old Man of the Sea and herdsman of the sea-beasts. Guided by its mutable nature, and the beautiful axial symmetry of Islamic art I create garments with an outstanding pattern design, color and creativity.

MATERIALS USED

All garments are completely constructed with recycled coffee capsules which are highly harmful for the planet. After cleaning , cutting and bending them, they are threaded with metal rings to create the final shapes of the garments.
