DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

Logela. The tales of the floating walls is an interpretation and exploration of five emotions associated with the bedroom – fear, roots, refuge, creativity and self-discovery. I wanted to dig into the limitless sources of inspiration that this space offers and invite the audience to reflect on different experiences through Performance – becoming a mirror ofthese universal feelings.

INSPIRATION

 

This project wants to find a common ground between Performance Art and the design process. Directly inspired by Pina Bausch (Walzer, The rite of Spring), Yoko Ono (Grapefruit) and Marina Abramovich (Rhythm series) – it interprets these artist’s main conceptual elements and turns them into potential methodologies.

MATERIALS USED

The fabrics used are either vintage or deadstock material from fashion companies. It is quite a rich selection of mostly organic materials such as cotton, wools, silks and linens. The whole project is exclusively made with different shades of black, focusing instead on building a storyline within the textures.This mix helps define, as well as disturb, the layerism within the garments – simultanously poiting out the tailoring techniques used.
