BIAAF, MORE THAN FASHION
1,200 designers participate in the VII edition of the international fashion design contest.
Talent, creativity, innovation, learning by doing and a perfect mix between avant-garde and tradition have forged BIAAF’s DNA in recent years.
In this latest edition of the international fashion design competition, more than 1,200 young designers from over 90 countries dream of being one of the 30 finalists of the contest. Coming from the most prestigious schools in the world (IED, FIT, London College of Fashion, UAL, Central Saint Martins, Parsons, Istituto Marangoni, Shenkar …) aspire to win the grand prize.
The fashion design contest promoted from BIAAF is a consolidated international reference thanks to seven editions in which more than 6,000 designers from around the world have participated. Next Wednesday, March 11, we will live one of the most special moments of recent years, the selection of the jury of 30 works of the more than 1,200 received this year.
WE ARE MORE THAN FASHION
Behind each of these fashion designers there is a story that deserves to be told, for this reason, the European platform emerging design leader has launched the MORE THAN FASHION campaign in the context of its international competition.
BIAAF is much more than fashion, in the words of its President, Victoria Cañas “BIAAF is a dream that has come true. Every trip we make in search of talent (Japan, Israel, Paris, New York … are just some of this year’s) allows us to build a global map of the industry and meet different realities to which we respond through fashion design.”
The main goal of the MORE THAN FASHION campaign is to promote and highlight the different BIAAF projects in fields such as research, high performance education or sustainability that arise through the opportunities generated through the competition. Although the biennial contest is the flagship of the platform, each year the team develops high-impact initiatives in the creative industries with key agents such as the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Bilbao City Council or BBK Fundazioa.
BIAAF has meant for hundreds of fashion designers a unique opportunity to express themselves as they are, to capture their personal imagination, to make it known to the world but also to train together with international references thanks to scholarship programs or masterclass created “ad hoc” To meet your needs.
