La vie en rose, at Museo del Traje
The new exhibition will open its doors on November 16 in Madrid
Pink is always in fashion, but this year even more. If recently we talked to you about the exhibition that the FIT Museum in New York dedicated to this color, now it is the Museum of the Costume of Madrid that surrenders to him with its new exhibition, “La vie en rose”.
On this occasion, the exhibition will also delve into the symbology behind this color in Western culture and the changes in its meaning over the centuries, analyzing it from a gender perspective. The exhibition includes all kinds of objects, from clothing to advertising posters or dolls. With textile pieces from the 18th century to the present, the exhibition shows works by renowned international and national designers, from Yves Saint Laurent to Jesus del Pozo.
In addition to pieces from the museum’s own archive, the exhibition has been completed with works donated by other art galleries such as the National Museum of Decorative Arts or the National Archaeological Museum, as well as private collections. Curated by Lucina Llorente and Juan Gutiérrez, the exhibition will open its doors on November 16 and can be visited until March 31 of next year in the exhibition hall on the ground floor of the museum, free of charge.
