Moritz Feed Dog 2017 begins, Barcelona’s Festival of Fashion Documentaries
The 30th of March begins in Barcelona the thrid edition of the fashion documentary festival Moritz Feed Dog. A great variety of films about fashion will be shown: from portraits of some of its leading figures to the unknown side of fast fashion.
Franca: Chaos and Creation pays homage to the recently deceased Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia. The director, her son Francesco Corrozzini, makes an intimate portrait of his mother, a woman that broke the fashion rules many times. Another Vogue editor-in-chief 8this time from the US edition), Anna Wintour, it’s one of the protagonists of another documentary shown at the festival, First Monday in May. Directed by Andrew Rossi, the film follows the preparations of one of fashion’s greatest events each year: the Met Gala. Meanwhile, Dries (dir. Reiner Holzemer) follow the designer Dries Van Noten in his daily life while preparing his fashion show number 100.
The 501 Jean: Stories of an Original (dir. Harry Israelson) tells the story of the legendary jean and its connection with the social and cultural changes of last century. In Out of Fashion director Jaak Kilmi shows the implications of fast fashion for the environment and society, showing the process of a garment until it reaches the shop.
The festival also includes two documentaries that follows the life and career of two famous photographers, Peter Lindbergh: The eye, directed by Gero von Boehm, and The incomparable Rose Hartman, about the women behind the lens that best depicted Studio 54.
Other films that will be shown at the festival are Model, from Frederick Wiseman, To be a Miss, directed by Edward Ellis, Flor Salcedo and Aaron Woolf, nd Bangaologia, by director Coréon Dú.
