Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists 25 Years
Rotterdam helds a new retrospective of the Dutch duo.
The Kunsthal Museum in Rotterdam hosts until the 30th of September the exhibition “VIKTOR & ROLF: FASHION ARTISTS 25 YEARS”, dedicated to the Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. The exhibition covers the 25-year career of the duo that met when both studied at the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design.
Viktor & Rolf has always differentiate themselves by its strong artistic and innovative identity. Their shows become highly anticipated performances season after season, uniting fashion with other artistic disciplines and enhancing their avant-garde designs. The exhibition captures this unbreakable union between art and couture under the concept of “wearable art”. The exhibition includes around 60 pieces of haute couture and sketches, as well as projections of some of its most celebrated fashion shows. In addition, you can also see 25 examples of the series “Dolls”, consisting of replicas of old dolls dressed with some of the most iconic designs from Viktor&Rolf.
