Neither Here Nor There

DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

 

In this collection I deal with questions of the loss of identity and form. By using organic patterns as a brush for expressive character and abrupt cuts to nullify them at the same time. I wanted to express different stages of the feeling ‘neither here nor there’ with each shoe.

INSPIRATION

 

Have you ever felt in transition? A moment of personal transformation to another set of being while you have left the old behind. This collection explores the inmate nature of this feeling by fragmenting the old, reaching for new opportunities and the immediate future, while holding on to the past in that same instance.

MATERIALS USED

Laser-cut leather upper, EVA sole, TPU outsole/ heel cap, laser-cut acrylic sheet heel, 3D printed ABS.
